What is Rainscreen?

Rainscreen is a façade designed to protect the fabric of a building, whilst giving it a decorative finish. The choice of materials used as a rainscreen are vast, all with different aesthetic and technical qualities. Popular rainscreen options include brick, stone, granite and light-weight materials such as Zinc, Aluminium, High Pressure Laminates (HPL), Aluminium Composites or Timber.

HOW DOES THE BUILDING BREATHE?

Continuous air flow between the cladding and the inner layers of the exterior wall.

Ventilated rain screen cladding prevents water from penetrating into the building’s skin due to pressure equalization.

The separation with other layers in the exterior wall, minimizes thermal stress in the load bearing structure.

It protects a building against any weather condition.

It can accommodate variable thicknesses of insulation to reduce energy consumption for both heating and cooling.

It prevents moisture accumulation.
